Keeping You Safe
At GW Hospital, your safety and health are our top priority. That’s why we put safety protocols in place for in-office visits, including temperature screenings upon arrival and requiring face masks for everyone in the facility. The hospital regularly cares for patients with highly infectious disease and we continue to follow best practice guidelines to identify, isolate and care for COVID-19 patients, as well as other patients with potentially infectious disease.

Get Back to Doing What You Love
We all have a clock on our joints. As people are living longer and remaining active in recreational sports, there’s more of a need for sports medicine.
The specialists at GW Hospital can help you recover quickly from an injury and get back to doing what you love. We focus on finding ways to prolong the life and function of joints, from shoulders and hips to knees and ankles. Our staff can help you prevent recurrent injuries, build your strength and reach your goal of peak physical performance.

Treating a Wide-Range of Conditions
We offer surgical and non-surgical treatments for injuries to your:
- Shoulders (rotator cuff)
- Elbows (tennis elbow)
- Arms, wrists and hands
- Hips
- Knees (ligament injuries)
- Lower legs, ankles and feet
- Head (concussions)
- Neck and back

When to See a Sports Medicine Doctor
You should seek treatment if you injured one of your joints and there’s swelling or it’s difficult to use, and it’s not getting better after trying an anti-inflammatory and resting it for a few days. Care can be comprehensive. You may see your primary care provider or an orthopedic surgeon, and then possibly a physical therapist, sports medicine doctor, or sports psychologist.
